Grant Recipients

Congratulations to two projects in our California District for both receiving a Healthy Tomorrows grant!

  • Mental Health Services for Children in Public Housing, Los Angeles, CA

  • Vista Community Clinic Healthy Tomorrows Project, Vista, CA

Each project will be issued up to $50,000 in funding every year for the next five years to help aid them in implementing child health initiatives in their communities.

Pediatric Spotlight

Damodara “Raj” Rajasekhar, MD, an Apple Valley Neonatologist, was one of 4 local doctors to receive the annual Unforgettable Pediatric Doctor Award for his contributions to area children. The award was given during the 9th Annual Lights for Little Lives Memory Walk and Candlelighting Ceremony in Loma Linda, CA.

Richard Pan, MD, of the University of California Davis and our AAP-CA Vice Chair, received the Lydia Smiley Award for his work with the school nurses at Sacramento City Unified School District on ADHD and the residency school health program. He has also received the prestigious Thomas Ehrlich Faculty Award for Service-Learning for his work in improving community health through community-based physician education.

Chapter Awards

Congratulations to Chapter 2 on the nomination for the Outstanding Chapter Award! The nomination recognizes them as an outstanding chapter.

It is with great pride that the AAP-CA announces that CA Chapter 4 AAP was awarded the “Outstanding Medium Sized Chapter” in the country at the AAP Annual Leadership Forum in March in Chicago.
