Medical Leadership Council on Language Access
The AAP-CA is an active participant in the Medical Leadership Council on Language Access, funded by the California Endowment. The Council is committed to developing and supporting physician-led initiatives that reduce language barriers in health care settings. At the last Council meeting November 15, 2006 in Sacramento, the district was represented by Elliot Weinstein, MD and Kris Calvin, AAP-CA Executive Director.

readers can find a wide range of language access and cultural competency
resources and tools, including a list of medical interpreters by county
(in development), a Continuing Medical Education toolkit, patient education
materials, and Council documents including policy statements, reports
and meeting summaries.
