Advocate Now

AAP-CA Statewide Advocacy is Accomplished Through a Coalition of the Four AAP-CA Chapters and Is Made Possible By Member Pediatrician Chapter Dues (Ch 1-Northern CA, Ch 2-Greater Los Angeles, Ch 3-San Diego, Ch 4-Orange County).

See our State Budget Priorities page, where CEO Kris Calvin talks about what is going in with the state budget.

Below are the priority legislative bills on which AAP-CA has made public comment this session (2011-2012).

The list begins with Assembly Bills followed by Senate Bills, each in numerical order. Options to view:

  1. Click on “Status” to organize the bills by their standing in the legislative process. “Alive” bills will show first—these are the ones for which we can ADVOCATE NOW. This is followed by bills that are “Chaptered” (already signed into law), “Dead” and lastly “Vetoed”.
  2. Click on “Position” to organize the bills by AAP-CA Opposition and Support.
  3. Click anywhere in the box for a bill to find (i) a link to AAP-CA’s Advocacy Letter (reasons for our position), which you may use as a sample if you wish to advocate on that bill; and (ii) Bill Details, which takes you to the official legislative record on the bill with the bill text, vote records and analyses. (Note: To download a copy of the letter in WORD so that you may use it for local advocacy visits or to cut and paste to send your own letter to your legislator(s), after you click on the letter link, click on the small blue arrow on the bottom right hand side of the screen.)
